Chinese manufacturer to deliver car keys via drone
Leading the way in creative contact free services, Chinese automaker Geely are now delivering the keys to their customers new cars via drone.
The company, who also owns Volvo and Lotus, is the first automaker to offer an entirely contact free service to its customers. Cutting out the need for pushy salesmen and showrooms, Geely are selling their cars via their online marketplace, ensuring they are completely disinfected at local dealerships prior to delivery, and then dropping the keys off to customers via drone.
Geely have already delivered around 10,000 cars this way. However, it is currently unknown if the measures will also be taken by Volvo and Lotus dealerships in the upcoming months.
Do you think that more car companies will be altering their services in similar ways due to the effects of Coronavirus or will people wait to buy a car the coventional way? Share your thoughts in the comments.
