Chris Hoy takes on endurance racing, episode seven: Night driving
Sir Chris completes his final preparations ahead of the 24 hour endurance race
Can a multiple Olympic gold medallist go from winning in the velodrome on a bike to winning on the race track in a car?
Sir Chris Hoy decided to find out for himself and throughout 2017 he has been preparing to take on the challenge of endurance racing in the form of the 24 Hours race at Portimao in Portugal.
And DriveTribe was there to watch all through the process.
We’ve seen him throwing a GT3 RS around Millbrook, we’ve watched as he honed his race craft in the Caterham 310R Championship and we’ve followed him as he tried to get to grips with the track at Portimao.
In this week’s video Sir Chris arrives back at Portimao ahead of the big race, and finally gets some night-time running under his belt as he and the team undergo final preparations before the big race itself.
In next week's video Sir Chris and the team are on the grid for the race itself. Can they pull off a good result?
