Chris Hoy takes on endurance racing, episode eight: Race day
After all the prep, it’s lights out for Sir Chris and the team
Can a multiple Olympic gold medallist go from winning in the velodrome on a bike to winning on the race track in a car?
Sir Chris Hoy decided to find out for himself and throughout 2017 he has been preparing to take on the challenge of endurance racing in the form of the 24 Hours race at Portimao in Portugal.
And DriveTribe was there to watch all through the process.
We’ve seen him throwing a GT3 RS around Millbrook, we’ve watched as he honed his race craft in the Caterham 310R Championship and we’ve followed him as he tried to get to grips with the track at Portimao.
But after all the preparation it’s now time for Sir Chris to deliver on track as the flag drops on the 24 hour endurance race.
Will they make it to the finish? Can they dig out a good result? Find out in the video below.
