- I do appreciate an old Citroen, as I've shown before, and the DS marque has created some interesting cars in the past, although, not so much recently. What happened to all that French spirit? - Another bit of battle damage I'm afraid, I'm not sure what happened to the bumper, although this time I'm fairly sure I didn't break it immediately after having got it like the last one. Still, it's missing from any boxes so it's probably long gone. - I'd almost say it looks better without it!... But... It does't. - A unique side profile if ever I've seen one! You'd be hard pressed to find a car solely recognisable by its vague outline from the last decade, I'd say. Not that modern cars are without merit, but they lack something... - Although one thing they do lack, with reason, is yellow headlamps. - At least the French didn't decide to make the bloody brake lights white... But pick on them as I may, they've made a rather charming and timeless classic with the DS 19. Another classic racer, with some more Wikipedia research, this time time from a French rally that still runs to this day, the 'Tour de Corse'. The annual event runs on the island of Corsica, off the south coast of France. Interestingly, the first winner of the rally in 1956 was Belgian woman Gilberte Thirion, in a Renault Dauphine. (Another name I'm glad I don't have to pronounce aloud.) This car however, was driven to victory by René Trautmann in the 1963 rally.

what a lovely car
I've still got to get a DS.
Nostalgia from back then when all things were possible for all men
This is a special car indeed! I agree with you on that, what happened to the characterful French cars? Thanks for posting Ben, those photos are brilliant.
