Clarkson Mocks Hammond's Driving After Crash

In Jeremy's latest Driving column for the Sunday Times, he's taken to his word processor to talk about Hammond's well known little incident which happened not too long ago involving a Rimac and a steep hill.
He begins by dredging up the memory of Hammond's first major crash. You know the one - the one which made Richard like celery but put him in a coma for a few weeks - yeah, that one.
He compares it to Richard's latest incident, saying this:
"And now, having established he can’t drive in a straight line, he has proved he can’t drive round corners either."
Poor Hammond.
Clarkson even goes as far to say that he might forget "how to get undressed at night. He’ll put his clothes on in the morning and then assume they will be cut off by paramedics at some point later in the day."
Ouch!
He says the real problem is, though, now everyone knows Hammond is okay, the loss of the remarkable Rimac. He says "it was amazing" and that the Rimac could change how people think about electric cars. I highly agree, and if you want to read more about the Rimac, then follow the link below.
He does also mention that it was an electrical fault that caused the Rimac to go up in flames... We still don't know whether a fault accelerated the fire, however. We'll give you more on this once we know more...
With the fall of the diesel car, Jeremy expects electricity-based cars like Rimac and Tesla to replace them. An interesting view from Clarkson, but we understand that when he says this, he's not including the Prius.
He concludes by begging Jaguar Land Rover to consult the 'boffins' at Rimac about making an electric Range Rover that he can replace his current diesel version with. but he says he fears they won't have time. Especially now they've got to build a replacement car.

Although I don't always agree that jokes should be made at a person's expense, I also am a firm believer that if your friends are poking a little fun at you, everything is normal and they like you. Therefore, I take the jabs at Hammond as a good indication that he is recovering well, and will be back on the road with the boys soon. This, I am happy for. I'm sure that if there was something to be worried about, Hammond's co-stars would be a bit more sensitive. The joking tells me, all is quite well.
