Codemasters announces Grid Legends launching in 2022
A new story driven racer coming to consoles and PC
During today's EA Play event there was plenty of new announcements including more info about Battlefield 2042, a remake of Dead Space, and the thing you clicked on this article for, the next entry in the Grid series.
The standout feature shown in the trailer is the live action story mode which features real life actors using a technology known as extended reality, that's the same tech used by Disney to make The Mandalorian.
Other features to look forward to include what was described as 'over 130 routes' on tracks including real world race tracks like Brands Hatch and Indianapolis, as well as city circuits based in London, Moscow, Paris and more.
Like a lot of recent racing games, there will also be the option to make your own custom events. This will include the ability to choose race type, car class, time of day, and the option to add elements such as boost gates before publishing your event for everyone to play online.
Grid Legends is set to feature over 100 playable vehicles when it launches sometime in 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
