Every now and then an evolutionist comes along who changes the game, raises the bar, if you will.
There is no doubt that Colin Chapman created sensational sports cars by adding lightness, admittedly sometimes to reduce costs. However he was a great engineer and the handling of his road cars, in particular the Elan was ahead of its day, just ask Gordon Murray. His achievements on track, funded by his road cars, will never be repeated by such a small company.
The cars Mr Koenigsegg produces reminds me of Colin Chapman in his innovative designs and engineering, in fact I would say he eclipses Mr Chapmans achievements with his road cars even with the advanced materials and engineering now available.
What do you think?
