Concepts vs reality

How far do we go from concept to production

Do you remember the Audi A2. I thought it was particularly impressive. The box shape car. We obviously had the A Class in 4 door and 2 door options but Audi joined with the A2.

There was something that also stood out as well: The Mercedes small van. It was a people carrier and made no effort whatsoever to seat at least 5 people comfortably. It carried large boot space and therefore was a practical family transport vehicle.

For me, the Vaneo looked gorgeous. The vehicle did its job to perfection and it was a Mercedes which guaranteed a lifetime of pleasurable driving. It had a luxurious interior with an array of different options including the DVD screens. A perfect holiday scenario.

Renault joined the equation with the Kangoo. This also has perfect passenger space, a large boot and a good sense of driving feel when you're on your way to the coast. Maybe not a Mercedes but this vehicle was practical, functional and equally as good as the Vaneo.

The carrier van concept below from BMW. No I don't think so either. The carrier van is not pretty but it is practical and carries lots of people. The men from Germany, please leave this vehicle out the equation. The 2 Series Tourer which was replaced by the brand new X2, worked and not sure why they stopped it.

Concepts make us feel good. We get an image of the manufacturers future. Many concepts get changed and made to look so different. An example is the upcoming BMW 8 Series. I am excited about the launch of this vehicle.
