Conversation Thread: What is the most appealing exhaust setup?
Single-pipe, dual-outlet, quad-outlet, integrated, side-mounted, which setup reigns supreme in your mind?
Being stuck in traffic for a large portion of my commute has got me noticing little things about people's cars, like replaced badging from an accident, or special editions that I have never heard of, but something that I find incredibly interesting, is the placement of the exhaust pipe, or pipes, on models. For example, I have been recommending Hyundai/Kia products for a while, but I personally wouldn't buy most of them, because Hyundai/Kia have adopted a dual-outlet exhaust, but only on one side of their cars. The Telluride and Palisade suffer the most from this, because they would look even more luxurious with a quad exhaust setup.
Toyota also has the dual-outlet asymmetrical setup on the Camry and Highlander. I'm a big fan of symmetry when it comes to exhaust, or making them hidden, such as on my LaCrosse. I don't mind the fake exhaust setups, because they make the rear fascia look cohesive. If automakers are gonna hang exhaust tips out from under a vehicle, then they should make them symmetrical.
Of course after about 10 minutes of rambling to myself in traffic, I realized how great this would be to pose as a question to you all, which is why this whole post exists. The great exhaust debate is about to begin in the comments, and I'm genuinely curious to see what other people think in regards to exhaust systems, and their placements.
What do you think is the best exhaust setup? Which car has your favorite exhaust setup? I believe that exhaust systems should be symmetrical, with either a single-outlet or dual-outlet on each side, but what about you Comment? Comment Below!
