Corbellati: A Contender In The Race To 300MPH?

Will their car be, as they say, "the fastest hypercar in the world"?

So we all know about Hennessey, Bugatti, and Koenigsegg, the three car makers leading the race to hit 300 mph. These are the top dogs, and they are all very confident about their cars reaching the target first. Now though, it seems there is a new contender, Corbellati Hypercars.

The car they say will be "the fastest hypercar in the world" is fittingly named the missile and will have it's global release at the Geneva Motor Show. The stats of this potentially record braking machine are on the site as well. They say it will have a 9.0 L twin turbo V8, with 4 overhead cams producing 1,800HP. This monstrous engine teamed up with a 6 speed LSD transmission, will supposedly get this rear wheel drive Missile to the record books.

Here is the thing, I don't know if I believe it, let me talk you through why. So to start off, this is their first car, and as I am sure you know it almost never works when a car company tries to start at the top. Before cars, the Corbellati family was actually focused on making jewelry. Secondly they talk about how much time they have spent on the aero dynamics and power of the car, but they say nothing about what is the biggest obstacle for reaching these insane speeds, the tires. The record right now is slightly below 300 mph, with that being the main goal, but the Corbellati's aren't even looking at 300. They say their car should " reach and exceed 500 km / h", thats over 310 mph!

Now Corbellati may actually have a car that can do all the things they say, but due to their lack of experience, explanation, and education I for one need to see it to believe it. To do that I guess we will need to wait another couple months for the world wide premiere at the Geneva Motor Show.

What do you think, can they actually do this?

  • A bit of an echo of the Alfa 33 Stradale styling. Not a bad choice at all.

    • I thought exactly the same, clearly inspired by the best car in history. Let's see if they can keep up the ambitions
