It seems we are spoiled nowadays when it comes to F1 inspired cars on the road, there is the AMG Project one, Aston Martin Valkyrie and McLaren Senna. however manufacturers trying to spice up their brands by bringing some of the Drama and Splendor of the queen of motorsport into their model line up isn't anything new, here are a few of my favourites..
Renault Twizy F1
This little beast is the result of Renault Sport F1 really itching to get some F1 tech on a road car, they paired up with Renault Sport and presumably had few too many and decided to choose the Twizy as their vehicle of choice. The result? A Twizy with racing slicks, carbon-fibre splitter, side-pods, diffuser, and F1 style wing. Rear seat got thrown out to make space for KERS system straight from Renault F1 car.
KERS is activated via the F1 inspired steering wheel and provides extra 80hp for 14 seconds, making this single-seater electric car with no doors as quick of the line as Megane RS.. you can see Sebastian Vettel driving it in the video below:
Fiat Seicento Schumacher edition ?!
So this is mad for a slightly different reason, while Renault turned the F1 inspired Twizy into a real monster Fiat decided to just pay Micheal Schumacher a presumably obscene mountain of cash in order to get the 7-times F1 champion signature on the car, and to record this ridiculous ad...
The only difference between the Seicento Sporting with Abart Styling kit and the Schumacher editions are Schumacher's signature sticker, chrome gear-stick and badge on the passenger door. Which leads me to think that whoever approached Schumacher asking him to put his name on this car was seriously brave or crazy.
Alfa Romeo 164 Pro-Car
This is one of these 'what if' cars, more precisely what every young racing enthusiast wants to do 'what if we put F1 engine into our family car?' In 1988 Alfa Romeo answered by putting the 3.5-litre V10 F1 engine it developed for the Lieger team in the back of an Alfa Romeo 164.
The engine developed 630 horsepower at a spine-tingling 13500 rpm making it one of if not the fastest Alfa Romeo's ever with a 0-62mph time of 2.5 seconds and top end in excess of 200 mph. The car was intended to compete in single-spec 'Pro Car' series like the BMW M1 a decade before it but the plans fell through.
Renault Espace
Some say 80's were a crazy decade the Alfa above is certainly a proof of that, but in that case what do we say about the 90's? You see around that time Renaults Espace MPV was facing some fierce competition in the market it single-handedly created with MK1 Espace and felt the need to spice up the MK2 to get the buzz going again.
To do so they teamed up with Williams F1 team who at the time was dominating the F1 grid, Williams, in turn, put half of their 1993 Championship winning care the WF13 driven by Alain Prost, into a carbon fibre reinforced Espace Chassis. The result was MPV with 800bhp a 0-124mph time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of a 197mph. To this day it's by far the coolest and best sounding MPV of all time.
Porsche Carrera GT
Okay so this is not exactly F1 inspired, it's engine however has very rich history that begins in F1, in 1992 Porsche designed the engine to be used in the 'Footwork Arrows' F1 car, however due to various issues the plans fell through, then there was a little episode with LeMans but that didn't happen either. Enter 2004 Carrera GT:
Porsche initially showed it off in concept car form back the 2000 Paris motor show, but due to high interest and butt-load of money the Cayenne SUV was bringing in Porsche decided to do it for real and gives one of the greatest purists supercars ever. The V10 was bored out to 5.7 litres and produced an astonishing 603 horsepower mated to a manual transmission powering the rear wheels it would hit 60 in 3.5 seconds and a top end of 205mph. Ferrari eat your heart out.

When a CARRERA GT is the most normal car on the list,
THEN YOU KNOW ITS A CRAZY LIST!
I know I shouldn't, but I'm laughing at the Twizy.
It's funny but also devilish fast
For a car i'd have the porsche. But just for the hell of it i'd have the twizzy. Just to push the KERS everytime its full.
I. Want. That. Twizy.
I secretly want the twizy
I want it quite openly it's mental !
Imagine smoking a smug faced person in a Lamborghini at a set of lights in a Twizy... The joy😍
