Cruz Car Show 2019
Some of my favorites from a local car show
Hi everyone,
Every year downtown hosts a car show and it always a lot of fun. This year was no exception, I was so in the moment and just enjoying myself that I didn't take a ton of photos but I'm pleased with the ones I did take. Not everything needs an explanation, but I do want to say a few things about a few of the cars.
The first is a roadster that was incredibly well built, and made so much noise (in the best way of course). Then there was an Austin Mini Truck. Mini trucks are something I'm very familiar with but in the US I rarely see Austin's let alone an Austin Mini Truck, so I was excited to see that. Then there's a car that I see every year and it's a Willy's Aero. This particular Aero belongs to drag racing legend, and local, Herm Petersen aka The Northwest Terror. He's such a nice guy, always down to have a conversation and most weekends you can find him at the drag strip. And the last car I want to talk about isn't a car at all, but a hydroplane. I don't know if it's weird in other places to see hydroplanes but here it's very normal. At the beginning of August Seafair takes place over Lake Washington, the US Navy Blue Angels and other acts own the sky and the hydroplanes own the water. This particular one is piloted by Jaime Nilsen and competed against Jimmy Shane, J Michael Kelly and others for the Seafair Cup.
That about wraps it up for this post, there is one car that I didn't take a picture of because I was so shocked to see it and it was a Hillman Husky. I have never seen one of these before, they're very rare to see in the US, but my uncle had one forever ago and after hearing about it for so long it was really cool to see.
