Dear DriveTribe users: Please stop changing your names.
It's just confusing and pointless
Maybe I'm weird. Probably I am. But I find it incredibly stupid to change your DT name frequently. Throughout the time I've been on DT, there have been several name trends.
The first was changing your account to a massive fanboy account. Sort of to mock "👑👑ROLLS ROYCE👑👑👑👑👑 👑👑ROLLS ROYCE👑👑👑👑👑". Accounts such as "👌👌👌ACURA👌👌👌 👌👌👌ACURA👌👌👌" and "🤦🤦JEEP🤦🤦 🤦🤦JEEP🤦🤦" popped up for a few days until the og fanboy left and the joke was over. This was the only one I took part in. And it wasn't on my main account, it was a brand new one to avoid confusion.
Then came the obsession with the Stig. Accounts like "THE STIG", "Mr. Stigson", and even "Bunga Bunga Stiggy McStigface" popped up all over the place.
Next came the craze where you swap the first letters of your names. For example, I'd be "Boe Joater".
Now, there's another fanboy one. We have "Mclaren Fan", "Merc Fanboy" and a whole bunch of others that I couldn't even name if I tried.
So why shouldn't I change my name?
In short, it's confusing. It's impossible to keep track of people if they change their names so frequently. If someone wanted to tag you they'd have quite some difficulty if you had just changed your name.
It's also kind of dumb. Sorry.
What should you do?
If you want a change, I'd recommend changing your profile picture. It's a great way to state which cars you like, or other things you're interested in. You can also change your name slightly. For instance, maybe go from "Joe Boater" to "Joe B", or "Joe Boater (INSANE ACURA FAN)". This way, it's still easy to tell that it's Joe Boater, and not some random bozo on the internet (some may argue that he is...).
