Dear Volkswagen, please make the ID.3 an electric estate car too

This is the bee's knees

1y ago

Earlier this year, Volkswagen took the world by storm when they announced the imminent arrival of its new fully electric hatchback. This is to be called the ID.3 and is the beginning of a new range of electric models from the German manufacturer.

So far, all we know is that a hatchback is coming, but what if Volkswagen were to make an estate version too? Well thanks to the magic of editing, Kilber Silva has been able to reimagine the hatchback to look better in my opinion.

While this looks very cool, I am not sure it will end up going into production, or so I thought. You see, at this years LA Auto Show, there was a special estate car lurking around called the Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion concept which was very similar to this. There is still hope people.

Would you support an EV estate?

  • A must. The rise of the ubiquitous SUV has seen the demise of the estate car. A great loss if you have a fixed frame wheelchair and kids who need the back seat. VW follow the hybrid VW Passat GTE Estate

  • Yes thanks, I’m fed up with electric(and petrol and diesel etc) SUV’s

    • SUVs are large and heavy to start with so making them efficient by making them a hybrid or EV is a bit silly to me. But that's what consumers buy so here we are.

    • That crap excuse to have a higher drive height is screwing with our planet as well.

  • I don’t disagree but why not offer it in North America ? The golf and gti are offered here so that “there’s no demand” bs doesn’t really stick

  • If car manufacturers want people to buy electric cars, they should design them in such ways that they look like...cars, not like stupid 90s concepts. What I like about VW's designs is that they're very mature, and they age very well. Although I'm not a fan of electric cars, this one looks really good and I'd 100% have one over any electric car (apart from the Porsche Taycan) in production right now. I also hope that if VW launches this car it will finally bring the SUV and crossover madness to an end.

    • Was just about to say this....if they make an electric car look like a “real car” id take more notice...

    • The thing is, after all these years, we know what a car should look like. We know it's got 4 wheels, a round steering wheel 2 or 3 pedals and so on. The concept of "car" has got to a point in which not much can be changed, in my opinion.
