Maybe it's actually real?

It's a car that most people don't even think will ever make it to production, but perhaps the reality isn't as outrageous as we all thought? Rumors are now swirling about that the Devel Sixteen, the supposed supercar to end all supercars, will actually be making its debut next week.

The Devel Sixteen has been in development since 2013 and until now, it was the ultimate example of chest puffing. With claims of 5,000 HP and a top speed of voer 310 MPH, it was easy to see why people would roll their eyes. After all, it's easy to claim something, but it's a whole other thing entirely to make it happen.

As it stands, it looks like we won't have long to wait to see if this thing is real or not. The Devel Sixteen is packed with a quad turbo, 12.36L V16 engine, and since starting development, Devel Sixteen has now teamed with Manifattura Automobile Torino to build the car. MAT is responsible for Jim Glickenhaus' SCG 003 and the Apollo Intensa Emozione.

November 14th is the start date for the Dubai Motor Show. Will Devel have an actual working prototype? We won't have much longer to wait until we have the answer to that question!

  • Am i seeing this right? Is that a PUSHROD v16? Wtf? Seems preaty point less on haveing a custom v16 built just to cheap out on development and just have just 2 sbc stuck together. Im no engineer but my mind is telling me this will be less reliable than just doing a power comparable v8.

    • The engine is 2 Chevy 6.2 liter v8s welded together, that's why it has the in the block cam. they said that back in 2014 on the Top Gear website when they first announced it.

    • You're absolutely right. There are more effective and efficient ways to achieve this sort of power that don't require an enormous heavy block, but this car isn't about best practices in performance. It's the ultimate LS swap. It's never...

  • Good on fuel then? Be like "I started the car, blipped throttle, gotta fill up my 100ltr tank.."

    • I doubt you'll ever hear that considering anyone who blips the throttle will end up in a tree
