All this time, I thought the Hyundai logo was just a letter H in a circle, but it is actually based on two guys shaking hands.

And apparently it was public knowledge all along but no one seemed to know, well almost no one. It even says right on their website "The Hyundai logo may look like the first letter of our name, but it also symbolizes two people - the company an customer - shaking hands."

And after seeing the above image by Jalopnik, it is something which cannot be seen. And there's your fact of the day that the Hyundai logo is based on two guys shaking hands.

Let me know in the comments below if you already knew of this!

  • There are actually more than this. Founder of the company is actually refugee from the North Korea. And this is a symbol of North and South Korea joining together.

  • I remember hearing that story while in possession of a 1999 1.6l Lantra wagon with a 0-100 time of "not achievable".

I remarked at the time that I was pretty certain it was actually the customer punching the dealer in the head.

  • I always thought it was just korean copy of Honda logo (and perhaps name, sounding vaguely similar)
