Diecast Review: 1/64 XCarToys Tesla Cybertruck

I could not resist... not one bit.

When Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck in Nov 2019 I was seriously blown away. Having grown up watching Sci-Fi movies and admiring all the crazy imagination that went with the outlandish designs, I can't say that I was surprised that Elon Musk brought some of that craziness to a potential mass production reality. I admire the innovation behind it for sure!

I'll (very) likely never own a 1:1 Cybertruck in my lifetime. So, when I spied 1:64 versions popping up on the 'bay made by XCarToys I haaaad to pick one up. In fact, it was probably one of the quickest "buy-it-now" clicks I've had in a while $17 USD +free shipping.

I already have 1 XCarToys 1:64 car in my collection (Daihatsu Charade) and it impressed the heck out of me with it's quality. This Cybertruck is on the same quality level and I am impressed again.

It showed up in this very nice and pretty simple box. Just a silver depiction of the Cybertruck on the front. Nothing else, no labels, no type, no upc, nothing. Just a clean box that really makes this vehicle feel as special as it should be.

The proportions are spot on! Excellent angles and really just looks exactly like the Cybertruck. Did I mention this is diecast? Well it is and holds a good amount of heft due to most of it being diecast material. It's hard to pick up in the picture, but the headlight silver is slightly different from the body panel silver. They did take that step to make sure there is a slight distinction.

Back details are fantastic. Such a simple yet remarkable design.

The wheels are pretty perfect. Would have been nice if they were real riders (especially for the price) But I will say the details are perfect with the proportions of the overall truck.

Ready for a trick? The retractable bed panel is removeable! showing you the glorious cargo space that you would get with the Cybertruck.

Plenty of space for a Honda Motocompo and a pudgie Coyote.

Base details are non existent. Which makes me wonder if Tesla opted not to share those visuals/specs with XCarToys. Not sure there... I'm also not sure that this is an actual licensed product from Tesla.

1:64 me definitely approves and is really happy to have this crazy truck in the car collection.

  • I'm with you on the sci-fi, and the design. I just hope they actually make it. Then, maybe a 'lesser toy manufacturer will come out with one I can afford.

Considering I just screwed out of a mini gt c8 on ebay...

    Dollar cars it is.

  • In XCarToys’ official Taobao shop, you can find this Tesla, but there isn’t any XCarToys’ name in the description, just like the box. But since they haven’t been selling anything without a license under their name, there’s some rumors that they may still be talking the license thing with Tesla.

  • Okay okay so where can i get that Motocompo? :D

    • Haha! The Motocompo came with an unbranded plastic Honda City that I got many years ago. I think the brand was F-toys. Sadly the build quality of the Honda City was pretty terrible. But the moto is rather nice! :)
