With over 320 kW (430 PS) being produced from its 3.2-litre six-cylinder engine and a top speed approaching 322 km/h (200 mph) it’s little wonder that Porsche chose the 996 GT2 as the platform to debut its Porsche Ceramic Composite Braking system (PCCB). The discs were 50 per cent lighter than traditional cast iron rotors and had a service life of up to 300,000 km. In other words, they were game changers.
