Dodge Charger Police Car PIT Maneuver Just Ruined This Criminal's Day

That Ford Mustang had no chance

3y ago

Not too long ago we saw a stolen Dodge Hellcat go on a high speed chase through Texas. The suspect was going so fast that police officers did not even bother chasing the 707 horsepower Challenger with a 6.2 liter supercharged V-8. In the case of this Ford Mustang, however, the police was hot on its tail and determined to take the suspect down.

The Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver, that we've seen so many times on chase scenes and old TV shows like COPS, can be seen here executed well. Perhaps a little too well, to the point that the Ford Mustang was flipped on its roof. If you have never seen the PIT maneuver it basically goes like this:

See the Police's Dodge Charger, equipped with push bumpers, deliver a devastating blow to the Ford Mustang's getaway attempt.

  • T o be fair, it is a Mustang, it was most likely going to go out of control and end up on it's roof anyway!

  • Should be a 15 second video, not a 1:44... Time to drive now. This is what I think is happening when all the people slow down, creating a huge back up. Then when you get there, the accident is on the other side of the highway.

  • Don't get overly excited with a 1:44 video - you can stop watching after 13 seconds - the rest is just the man filming saying 'oh man - he flipped it right there'.

  • Nice build up for yet another disappointing DT video. Glad you described the maneuver since we didn't see it in the film.

Seriously, does anyone edit this garbage?
