Dodge Demon Is Not Really A Demon

What just happened here?

3y ago

The Dodge Demon has been marketed as the ultimate drag racing weapon. It comes with various tricks which help it in achieving a sub-10 second timing in a quarter mile run. It is also the quickest accelerating car in the world with 0-60mph being achieved in a claimed 2.1 seconds. So what happens when you pitch the ultimate drag racing weapon next to a GT-styled supercar from Europe?

The McLaren 720S has been running around the town and making every one look like beginners when it comes to head head drag racing. So far, the likes of Ferrari F12tdf, Porsche 918 Spyder have fallen prey to its widely acclaimed acceleration. But can it outrun a car which was designed to be the ultimate drag weapon?

The McLaren 720S has more than 120 HP less than the Demon however, it does weigh significantly less. The 720S also seems highly efficient when it comes to putting the power down the wheels as compared to the Demon. The results are mind blowing. The 720S once again proves it is the best supercar on the market.

  • I think the reason people keep busting the Demon's chops is because Dodge touted it as the 'Fastest accelerating car in the world, period', when it should have said the 'Fastest accelerating car in the world, for the money and under specific conditions'.

  • You want to claim the title then do a proper Drag race and race from the dig and where the title was made at the drag strip.

    • Right. And my 12 year old Prius may not be as fast as the Dogde, but talk about the price difference. I get about 25 of these old Priuses for one ... Dodge. So it‘s clear what you should buy.
