With Liberty Media recently announcing their plans for Formula 1's future, we have seen plenty of talk about the potential of Ferrari and even Mercedes leaving Formula 1 if they feel that the sport is not sticking to its roots etc. Indeed, Ferrari have been vocal with notions of quitting the sport. I wrote an article on this subject myself recently:

If you don’t have marquee manufacturers and tracks - you have indycar..
Sticking to it's routes, or roots??? If routes it needs explanation. Yes I would say F1 needs Ferrari, but as far as Mercedes that is a question. I would like to see HAAS, McLaren and other teams rise to the top and be competitive also.
