Don’t be surprised to see a straight-six version of the Mazda6 next year

The next version of the Mazda6 is also believed to borrow design cues from Mazda’s 2017 Vision Coupe Concept.

The Mazda6 is neither a popular nor an unpopular car, it‘s just a normal 4-door saloon with nothing special about it though this may change as a recent translated report from Spyder7 claims that a 6-cylinder version of the car will be released in the first half of next year.

The new Mazda6 will feature a completely new exterior design which, according to Spyder7’s report, will be heavily inspired by Mazda’s Vision Coupe Concept from 2017.

The report also states that, later on, the Mazda6 will be available in plug-in hybrid and all-electric form.

  • It’s not just the engine…what isn’t mentioned here is that Mazda plans to put this on an all new RWD!!! platform. That makes this really big news. It could be a proper sports sedan.

  • I’ve always looked at Mazdas, and they’re incredibly nice cars. Superbly put together, with great material quality, and practicality, but always thought they needed a tad more power. A straight six engine in a Mazda 6 is a brilliant idea. I’m sure it will be a highly competent car
