Don't Do It! Ferrari Confirms Utility Vehicle Project
I'm sure someone out there would be interested, but not everything has to have an SUV option!
Here's what I don't get; Ferrari already has the FF. Sure it's not really an SUV or wagon or anything, but it essentially serves the same purpose and has the extra seats and space to boot. So why do we need the Ferrari version of the Lamborghini Urus?
Now granted, the Urus is a pretty sweet looking car and I'm sure whatever Ferrari's design is will look fantastic as well, but making a Ferrari (or Lambo, for that matter) SUV is absurd. For starters, no one paying Ferrari prices will be using the car for any "utility" purposes. People with actual utility vehicles like Jeeps and Range Rovers barely ever use them as any other than a grocery getter, so what gives?
Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne all but confirms the SUV project:
"It will probably happen but it will happen in Ferrari style...That space is too big and too inviting and we have a lot of our customers who will be more than willing to drive a Ferrari-branded vehicle that has that king of utilitarian objective.”
This comment certainly does not 100% confirm that Ferrari is making an SUV, but with competitors like Lamborghini's Urus, Aston Martin's upcoming DBX crossover, and even Rolls Royce's future "all-terrain, high sided vehicle," I suppose it does make sense for Ferrari to join the competition.

What's next? McLaren? Don't ruin the brand with practicality. That's what parent companies are for.

"Nobody will pay Ferrari Prices for a utility grocery getter"? You are joking right? If it has a status symbol attached, They will fly off the show room floors, all they people that could afford a FF but thought a sports car too showy will rationalize a utility Ferrari as a good idea.
Only us Gear Heads with stick shift dreams on the Perfect Apex have issues with this.
