Don’t worry, the next Nissan GT-R will still have a V6 engine

But the engine will work in sync with some form electric motor.

As the automotive industry transitions into an electric future, many fear that many icons will lose their beloved ICEs soon. Though the Nissan GT-R is expected to be fully electric in future, the R36 generation will still have a V6 engine, according to a new report from Autocar after they spoke with Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida.

The Nissan boss said: "We are looking at how we can do it electrified.

It's something that's a really professional sports vehicle with no compromise. The Z is for someone like me who enjoys sports cars. The GT-R is a professional machine and we need to work it out for the future."

Like the R35 GT-R, the R36 will aim to be a more affordable sports car which has the performance to obliterate most supercars, especially on the drag strip. As for looks, Nissan is yet to have disclosed anything to the public however the automaker’s design chief, Alfonso Albaisa did say that “the straight-edged silhouette of the R32 GT-R is likely to have an influence on the R36."

  • With how low they can get the 0-60 with nothing more then some trick computers and diffs could you imagine what the launch would be like with Electric assist! It’ll go like a stabbed rat, and may even hunt down tesla in a 0-60 chase
