Doodle of the day: i recall seeing an Aston Martin DB6 once that looked stunning. On first sight it was clean, polished, chrome gleaming, deep Dubonnet Rosso paintwork. Yet underneath, and on closer inspection the sills were rotting severely, paint was beginning to bubble in tell tale places - it needed some serious help to put it right despite initial impressions to the contrary. I am sure we have all met people like that - who, on the surface, seem to have everything sorted and together. They appear to be fine, but look deeper and they are struggling with all kinds of stuff that they feel they could never reveal. It might even be us. In this Instagram generation the idea of appearing anything less than perfect can be quite difficult for us. People may not want to be ‘vulnerable’ or ‘needy’ - but deep down we, or they, might be crying out for someone just to give time, offer a cuppa, allow them to be who they really are and share what’s really going on. We don’t have to ‘fix’ people, they may not feel able to share everything, but just a simple gesture like giving our time to listen can make a huge difference. Jesus came and met people right in the mess of their struggling, he saw below the surface - but he never judged, instead he showed love, compassion, accepting people from where they were at - not expecting them to be anything other than real and honest. Prayers that we may do the same for each other. If there is something you would like prayer for - just drop me a message. #blessings #astonmartinlive #scribblingvicar
