Doodle of the day: let me tell you about my friend Mark: although he was not just my friend - he was a friend to so many and there were many who knew him better than I. Mark liked cars, classic cars, classic sports cars. We were trying to arrange a ride for him in a classic, but sadly time and circumstance meant otherwise. If Mark were a car - he would have been something special, truly one of a kind, full of life, a big Healey perhaps, but a special one: the kind of car you would never want to stop having fun with. To those who kindly said they would come up here in their cars to give him a ride (and there were many), you would have wanted to stay all week and keep driving with him. He would leave you with a grin on your face, make you laugh out loud from the sheer force of personality - yup a special Big Healey - that was Mark. I don’t know if Mark fought cancer as such, but he embraced life to the full, with an energy and passion I would have found hard to keep up with. But he also knew how to rest and relax. Yup definitely a big Healey special. He was incredibly warm hearted, generous, a giant of a man who knew how to love, yet I can imagine he could be cantankerous just like the rest of us, he would never have said he was perfect - he just loved life, family, friends, and Jesus. Yup a big Healey special - that was Mark. And now? He is a restored Healey. Mark trusted that God was bigger than cancer, bigger than suffering, bigger than death itself - and he believed there was a whole new life to come: life in all its restored fullness. That Healey is better than ever. Rest in peace and rise in tuned straight six glory my friend. Prayers for his family today and for all who are missing someone dear to them. #blessings #scribblingvicar #bighealeyspecial
