Dressed to Impress - Pebble Beach Concours Fashion
Dressed to the nines, this is the best in car show fashion from Pebble Beach, where everyone dresses to impress.
At car shows, sometimes it's not only the automobiles that dazzle and catch your attention. Specifically, if that car show is the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the headlining jewel event of Monterey Car Week. Pebble is not alone in this regard, though, with fashion being an integral part of other automotive gatherings like the Goodwood Revival, where all attendees dress in period-correct attire. Pebble, though, is something I like to compare to the Kentucky Derby in terms of style; A time and excuse to dress to the nines around millions and millions of dollars worth of horsepower.
So, to do something a little different this year, besides only photographing cars, I pointed my lens at also the people who caught my attention. Wanting to make a feature similar to what GQ would publish, I've assembled my favorite Pebble Beach lawn-style fashion pieces, playing the part of a paparazzi. Who do you think wore it best at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance?
Yes, that is Aston Martin boss Lawrence Stroll, who built his career and fortune from the fashion industry himself
Yes, this man's double-breasted coat is on point, but let's look to the bottle of champagne, a cigar, a hat with a tiger, and then loafers with a manual gearshift pattern on them. I'm into it.
Party on, dudes!
