Drifting across the keys: Austin Meeks showcases off-track skills

Drifting clearly requires a lot of talent – balancing a blend of speed and style with precision is no mean feat.

But when it comes to how drifters spend their time outside of the cockpit, playing the piano isn't exactly a skill which springs to mind.

I could try to find some tenuous link about rhythm and co-ordination being highly important in both activities, but instead, how about I just let you enjoy what happens when you blend the two together.

Although wearing full racing overalls, gloves and a helmet can't be the most practical thing when playing the piano, luckily Meeks' makes it look easy:

As well as being an avid musician, Meeks also owns a non-profit animal sanctuary, so he really is full of surprises.

For 2019, he's switched from a Nissan to a new Cadillac ATS-V, but adapting to new challenges is clearly a strongsuit of his.
