A man from Luxembourg was recently caught speeding in the small town of Auderghem located just outside of Brussels. The driver claimed he went 80 Km/h on a road with a speed limit of 70 Km/h. He payed the 96 euro fine and the case was closed. Or so he thought...
Months later a letter came in the mail telling him to defend himself in Belgian court. The letter stated that he was clocked going at a whopping speed of 859 Km/h or 533 Mph. That's quite the accomplishment considering the current land speed record for a combustion engine vehicle sits at 703 Km/h or 437 Mph.
The current fastest car powered by a "regular" engine.
The driver rightfully claimed "this is unacceptable" and has already filed a complaint.
Something similar happened just months ago in the small town of Quiévrain where a driver was caught going only 696 Km/h or 432 Mph. Mediocre if you ask me..

Definitely a Fiat Panda 100HP. I do that on the daily.
What what he driving? My money's on a Dacia.
My money is on an Opel Insignia since the 696 Km/h incident was with an Astra.
The Sandero is a cracker, but I reckon a 2CV is the culprit behind this one.
Guilty your Honor.... and while your drawing up the conviction papers... please certify them for me I don't want anyone trying to suggest I did not set the land speed record in your fine little community.
It's these home made speed cameras there crap.I made one off blue peter, and clocked my wife reversing her fiat panda out of the garage at 132 mph.can't be right that
I think that would warrant a royal pardon.
