DriveTribe community car of the decade winner - the McLaren P1
After nearly two weeks of voting, through 10 categories and 1 final vote, the DriveTribe community car of the decade has been decided! Over 2900 of you contributed to the final outcome, and for that, I cannot offer enough thanks. In the end, it was a very closely fought race between two cars - but ultimately, one has reigned supreme. So, without further ado, I can officially announce that with 803 votes, the winner of DriveTribe community car of the decade is: the McLaren P1!
While running a poll of this nature, it’s important to keep a sense of impartiality - but it’s also natural to indulge in the involuntary compulsion of guessing which car will take the ultimate crown. Despite clearly being a worthy car of the decade, at no point did I ever imagine the McLaren P1 would be crowned with the final prize. With 704 votes, the Lexus LFA was a fairly close second, winning popularity thanks to its otherworldly engine that has since vanished from the automotive world in favour of the hybridity present within the P1.
In third position was the car still officially recognised as the fastest production car in the world, the Koenigsegg Agera RS, having received 431 votes. But ultimately, while all the cars are standout moments of the past 10 years, only one of them has reigned supreme in this arena - and that car is the McLaren P1. Your car of the decade.
