Driving up Passo Stelvio

1y ago

After driving around the Italian Lakes we heading home through the Alps to take in some of the great mountain roads. The first of these, crowned as the "Worlds Best Driving Road" was the Stelvio Pass.

As a road to drive on it was interesting. The constant climbing into snow covered peaks with the rest of the route being revealed as you drove towards the pass. Unfortunately the amount of traffic meant that it wasn't that much of a fun drive.

I'd be interested to know others views. Here is the video that I made of my drive.

  • Agree on the traffic bit. Also, if you intend visiting, be wary of the hidden speed cameras (one in what looks like a tourist coach parked near the road on the western side).

    • Never got enough speed to worry about cameras. It was fun counting down the cornered to the top though.
