At the E-Mobility Play Days, visitors had the opportunity to test the new electric cars.
Impressions of the day:
Driving Experience
The Driving Center has given the opportunity to test an electric vehicle for the first time, and on the south course (a part of it ring) you could drive a short track with different e-cars. Drivetime 4 min.
Driving Center:
Befor you get to drive on the south course, you had to drive one round on the driving center road. Drivetime 2 min.

Nissan Leaf
Stats:
//From the NISSAN-Website and the Seller on the Track//
E-PEDAL: Accelerate, brake and come to a complete stop all with one pedal.
Nissan ProPILOT can keep you centred, cover blind spots, speed up, slow down and bring you to a halt in traffic jams.
ProPILOT Park can do the hard work for you. No hands, no feet - just press the button and sit back and enjoy the view
Keyless entry and push button start.
Blind Spot Warning keeps an eye on the blind spot area and warns you if it detects a vehicle hiding there.
Time and Range
Charging time at home: Dedicated home charger 7-8 Hours and Standard household 17 Hours
Charging time E-Station (CHAdeMO): Public Chargers 60 minutes for 80% (about 3€/100km)
Range: 350 KM (without using any gadgets on board), for a longer Range there is also a B-Mode (Brake Energy Regeneration) and an ECO-Mode.
What I think:
Experience: All-round view was ok, only in the front you have to guess were the car begins. The Warning Systems works. It beeps and activates the camera were the obstacles appear. So you don't have a blindspot. Could not test the ProPilot system. The Time was to short.
Conclusion aka Fazit: I love the E-Pedal technique.... more from the South course down below.

VW E-Golf
Stats:
//From the Volkswagen-Website and the Seller on the Track//
Front Assist and ACC: The standard adaptive cruise control helps to adjust your speed depending on the vehicles around you. Front assist meanwhile includes emergency braking assist as well as pedestrian monitoring to provide a helping hand should someone unexpectedly step out in front of you.
Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist: The optional Traffic Jam Assist feature monitors other vehicles around you to help prevent collisions when you’re stuck in a jam. Emergency Assist meanwhile can detect when the driver is no longer in control of the vehicle and takes semi-automatic control.
Park Assist: The optional Park Assist helps take the stress out of parallel parking. Not only will the feature help you find a space, it will also use ultrasound sensors to tell you whether your e-Golf can fit into your chosen spot.
Blind Spot Sensor: The optional Blind Spot Sensor warns you if there’s a car travelling in your blind spot to provide extra peace of mind. It also tells you if a car is approaching as you reverse out of a parking space.
Stationary air conditioning is possible with fully charged battery, as well as the window heating system to de-ice it. Controllable via the smartphone
Time and Range
Charging time at home: Dedicated home charger 7-8 Hours and Standard household plug 12-15 Hours
Charging time E-Station: Public Chargers 45 minutes for 80%
Range: 300 KM (without using any gadgets on board), for a longer Range there is also a B-Mode (Brake Energy Regeneration) that called by VW the Recuperation-Mode with 3 grades self to chose. The Golf has also ECO-Mode and ECO+ -Mode (this mode deactivates your Climatronic and reduce your max speed and acceleration)
Accelerates from 0 to 140km/h in only 10,4 seconds.
What I think:
Experience: The Time to test is way to short. The electronic steering wheel feels easily steerable. The light turns on automatically in the dark. Everything works electronically except the seat adjustment. You can feel the direct acceleration. You have to getting used to it at the beginning. With all gadgets activated you lose about 40% on your range.
Conclusion aka Fazit: It is a matter of taste if you prefer to use the automatic brake system from other E-Cars to load the battery or you prefer to regulate the braking yourself. The same problem as the others. The range to load time is what keeps me from buying an E-car

On this track:
Experience: This time I could drive the car on a different course.I could test the acceleration and how the E-Pedal-brake works. The light turns on automatically in the dark. Turn on all the applications in the car and you will lose nothing on power, only in range.
Conclusion aka Fazit: I love the E-Pedal technique. Also it uses the full power from the start and you can feel the power from the acceleration. It is definitely a nice car in the future, but with the range and waiting hours, not a car for today. Except if you are a city person with an powerstation in your garage and at your workplace.

Larger 20" wheels provide a 40mm wider track.
Accelerates from 0 to 160km/h in only 6.9 seconds

Time and Range
Charging time at home: Dedicated home charger 7 Hours, Standard household 12-15 Hours an with the BMW i Wallbox 1:30 Hours
Charging time E-Station: Public Chargers 45 minutes for 80% on DC-Loadingstation / 3 Hours for 80% on AC-Loadingstation
Range: 260km
What I think:
Experience: The acceleration is transmitted directly and due to the relatively light construction compared to other cars, it acts faster. The steering is light, the center of gravity of the car is centered.
Conclusion aka Fazit: The range/loading time is what keeps me from buying it, but the service of BMW is outstanding. Warranty on the battery is 8 Years, and you can keep the car as such, and only change the battery for more power.

Prices Range starts: Austia 49.922 € // UK £ 35.175 (start without modifications)
