In the market of electric powered motorcycles, the Californian Zero Motorcycle from Santa Cruz has been one of the major companies since 2006 and has become very ambitious over time.
Last year, for example, he presented the new SR / F, a naked designed specifically to compare with motorcycles equipped with internal combustion engine.
This great ambition derives from the engine installed on the vehicle, a ZF75-10 with a power of 110 hp and 190 Nm of torque capable of allowing a maximum speed of 200 km / h and an autonomy of 320 km.
Impressive numbers, especially considering that the SR / F is the first motorcycle equipped with Bosh's Motorcycle Stability Control system which groups ABS, Traction Control and brake distribution in a single solution.
The bike has aroused a lot of interest and Aldo De Giovanni, owner of the Budrio E-Racer, has decided to propose its own "lightened" version.
This is the Edge, a naked based on the mechanics of the SF / R but equipped with superstructures made of Kevlar, carbon fiber and 3D printed nylon to keep the weight as low as possible.
LineX was used to paint the motorcycle, which was developed for the armed forces and increases the resistance of the superstructures to scratches and cracks.
In addition to the new LED headlight, a special audio system called E-Racer Audio-Forceback has also been installed with a very particular function: composed of integrated hardware controlled by a BT app to produce high and low frequency sound waves, it has the dual function to warn pedestrians and other road users of the presence of the electric vehicle and to provide "power" feedback to the driver through vibrations that intensify according to speed.
The price of the Edge stands at 29,590 Euros, of which 23,590 for the motorcycle and 6,000 for the updates installed by the E-Racer.
