Eagles Fly: 1961 Chevy Apache 30 Panel Delivery
Old contractor's rig spotted on Skid Row in Eugene, OR
I first saw this truck at the muffler shop I photographed the British Coachworks MG TD replica at, but didn't get photos then due to it being on the lift. I then chased it around town unsuccessfully, before happening upon it at the same place I photographed the IVECO Ferrari racing team van at earlier this year.
The hood is not a 1960-61 "eyebrow" unit, likely because the truck was wrecked in the 60s/70s and the Chevy dealer only had 1962-66 hoods, which was a common issue from the 1960s until LMC Truck and National Parts Depot tooled up repro '60-'61 hoods.
This truck is undergoing repairs to get it back on the road as a rat rod of sorts, and the logotype/labelscars on it are beyond cool.
Remains of an outrigger unit. This was one hard working truck in its day.
