Ye Olde contact breaker points were giving me fits. After bragging about how well my Corvair was running, I started to get a no spark issue. I replaced all the of ignition components. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, breaker points, and condenser. The spark would still come and go. With that, I thought I would try out a new to me style of electronic ignition. In this video, I go through how to install the LED Optical Trigger Ignition made by F.A.S.T. It is called the XR-700. One can find the kit here on Clark's Corvair Parts, ssl.corvair.com/user-cgi/catalog.cgi?function=fetch&find_page=74

LED Optical Trigger Ignition... welcome to the 21st Century!
Funny thing, this unit has been around since at least 1992! I found an article from Moss Motoring Magazine from 92 the details how to install this unit on an MGA.
