ELMS: Maini/Senna/Farano have a difficult end to 4 Hours of Portimao
The #43 RLR MSport Oreca crew were back in action in Round 6 of the 2019 European Le Mans Series in the LMP2 category at Portimao in Portugal, where the team had its full line-up of Bruno Senna alongside Arjun Maini and John Farano.
They started off the final round in 10th in FP1, while they were only 17th in FP2. Their troubles continued as they qualified only 14th for the Sunday's four hours race. Farano was given the duty to start the race and the Canadian did well to avoid a massive pile-up.
The race was red-flagged for nearly an hour with the clock ticking as Senna was put in the car for the re-start. It was going well until a broken wishbone relegated the team into the pits for several laps as they only managed 94 laps of the 106 run.
Those laps were crucial in a truncated race as they finished way down in 30th overall, while they were 15th in LMP2 category. Eventually, the team finished 12th in the standings with 5.5 points, while Maini, Senna and Farano were 21st in the drivers' championship.
