Key Points:

1. Elon Musk has confirmed that a three-row Model Y will go into production next month over Twitter - because why not?

2. Musk also says deliveries will begin this December.

3. This configuration will add $3000 to the price.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has confirmed that a seven-seater Tesla Model Y will begin production next month. He also said that deliveries will begin this December. March of 2019, when the Y was first introduced, brought the idea of a seven-seater to life and, 9 months after production started, it has been confirmed. The extra seats will add $3000 onto the price.

  • It's still an ugly duckling...

I love my Model 3, and the Y still looks like someone pulled a bad photoshop joke on it.

  • Should we believe Elon? Yes. The car already has the mounting points built into the chassis to fit the third row of seats. Expect them to face backwards, fold flat and be for children and those of a smaller stature.

  • Heaven forbid anybody who actually needs a 7-seat vehicle buy a minivan when you can spend more money and get less space in an "SUV"

  • 3 rows of seats sounds like a good idea. Can compete with the Suburban

    • It sounds like a good idea until you realize the Model y is a midsized crossover. I can't imagine legroom will be very good and there certai nly will be almost no hatch space...
