Elon Musk shows off the Tesla Cybertruck on the streets of New York City

But Elon, when will we see customers with them?

Elon Musk has been seen driving a prototype Tesla Cybertruck around New York City and while it's cool to look at, potential customers still don't know when they will be able to get their hands on one for real.

The reason this vehicle has been spoted in New York is because it has come to visit the Tesla store in the Meatpacking district and will be on display there for a little while. The last place you could see it was at the Peterson museum where it spent many months.

This Cybertruck turned up in New York the same night Elon Musk was there shooting his SNL show and it doesn't look like a coincidence.

Will you be going to see the Cybertruck on display in New York?

  • Hmm yes. It is as ridiculous as I thought. It looks like a DMC Delorean had a child with a Ford F150

  • I have a few lava buckets at hand just in case one passes by.

    • It even has one of those "I am a massive turd" light bars mounted high up where it can blind oncoming drivers. I would rather vomit through my nose than have these on the road.

  • As far as I can make out, the main sticking point is their new battery production line, which is the same feeder that the Semi is likely to need as well. The fastest Model S is also likely to need these batteries, which is why it too is held up. No doubt I'm being somewhat simplistic here, but reading between the lines from their latest report, this seems the likeliest reason.
