Dear LEGO Tribe Community

We are absolutely saddened to learn that DriveTribe is closing by the end of January 2022. In the past two years, the world hasn’t been easy on us; many were harshly beaten by the reality, and many, if only lucky enough, are still struggling for survival. Unfortunately, it’s now DriveTribe’s turn to take the hit.

Ever since the establishment of LEGO Tribe in November 2016, following DriveTribe's launch earlier that year, LEGO Tribe has been poured with fascinating creations and insights and so many have been inspired, including this writer. With nearly 10,000 members across the globe, shy of 3 million impressions made, hundreds of LEGO creations shared, and the DriveTribe’s official ’Blue Tick’ recognition, the LEGO Tribe Community has proven its influence in the world of imaginations. All that could never be possible without DriveTribe, and most importantly, love, enthusiasm, and efforts of every single DriveTriber.

I’d like to personally thank every single LEGO Tribe member who’s been supporting the community, the whole DriveTribe team and of course, Mr Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. This I do with all my heart.

‘Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.’

It’s always sad to let things go, yet this is perhaps the best chance to start something new. I’d kindly invite all of you to join the Official LEGO Tribe Medium Page, where normal service shall resume.

Sincerely yours,

Chris Lynd

  • And once again I’d love to thank for kicking start LEGO Tribe. As some members who joined a bit later might not know, James was actually among the first few people who posted in LEGO Tribe. It was an anecdote about he being ambushed at a pub by someone who happened to give him a box of mini LEGO London Bus.

  • It's been a pleasure sharing this little corner of the internet with you Chris! Here's to bigger and better things, and more bricks of course!

  • Thank you for this well-written piece.

It is sad. But it doesn't have to be. You have a good point, perhaps this is just the end of a beginning.

    • You’re too kind, and actually I do think it’s just a small setback
