Enzo Fittipaldi and Gianluca Petecof announced as first Prema drivers for 2018
Brazil's Enzo Fittipaldi and Gianluca Petecof are confirmed as the first two drivers for the 2018 season at Prema Theodore Racing. Both young guns will compete in the German and Italian F4 Championships.
16-year-old Fittipaldi already had an appearance in ADAC F4 at the Nürburgring in August last year. After a positive year, it was a logical step for the Brazilian to decide for a more complex program, along with working at Prema again. "I am really confident that this year will be one to remember! Really looking forward to the start of the season!", he said.

The challenging program aims at making another positive step remains under the guidance of the Ferrari Driver Academy. "We are proud to welcome Enzo back for another year together. He was brilliant in how he faced his first steps in full-time open-wheel racing, and his results were really positive too. It will be absolutely interesting to see him line-up for such a busy season and we are sure that, continuing the same progression of 2017, he will become a top contender", summarised Team Manager Grazia Troncon.
Fittipaldi will team up with Petecof, who joined the Ferrari Driver Academy program last December, and he is now ready to make his full-time debut in single seaters. "2018 is set to be a big year for me since it will be my first in single seaters. I’m excited about the new challenges of the season ahead. I couldn’t thank Shell Racing enough for their amazing and constant support. I’m looking forward to fighting at the front, and can’t wait to get everything started!", said Petecof.
The 15-year-old enjoyed a fair share of success in kart racing, including a 5th place in the OKJ class of the CIK-FIA World Championship, racing as a manufacturer driver in the Tony Kart Racing Team.
"It is always exciting to welcome a young driver graduating straight from kart racing. Both the team and driver need huge commitment in search of mutual understanding, and by working professionally, there are great chances of improvement and success. Gianluca definitely has a lot of talent which is the most important thing, and with the support of Prema and the Ferrari Driver Academy, I’m sure that everything else will come naturally", explained Team Principal Angelo Rosin.
The first official ADAC F4 outing on track will follow next month during the pre-season test at East Germany's Oschersleben circuit from 26th to 28th March.
