It seemed for ages I never found redlines, now they seem to be on my radar. Got up early this morning to get in line at a sale where I knew there'd be some cars. I was one of the first in line, and I got them all. We have a Custom Mustang, Silhouette, Evil Weevil, Porsche 917, 2x Custom Thunderbirds, Custom Cougar, and a Sizzler. They aren't perfect, but are decent, and although they weren't exactly 4 for $1, there should be some meat on the bone, so to speak (I don't collect these, they will likely go to a collector I know). Not sure if anything here is rare, gotta look them up, but the Mustang is quite pretty. It was missing a wheel, so I did my first redline wheel swap, and took one off the Cougar, as they are the same size.

Now I need to find a sale with some nice older Matchbox and Tomica.

    • Oh snap! If you're looking to offload the 917, let me know :)

      • Also the M7stang and TBirds could be worth a decent amount. Even if you paid 20 bucks for the lot, it was a steal.

      • I'll let you know. I have a couple local collector friends I am going to contact first, but I am not sure how their post-holiday budgets are, or if they want this material. Unfortunately, it was a bit more than $20 for the lot, but judging by the...

    • Very Nice haul. I especially like the Cougar, Tbirds and Mustang. I will have to find my old redlines and share them too.

      • It appears you have a nice vintage collection, too. People seem to love these redlines, show em off.

    • Yeah, that mustang alone will pay for the lot. I was happy to pay $40 for a wheel-less blue US version that was more beat up just to have one in my collection.

The orange Custom Cougar and Antifreeze US Silhouette are also quite hard to find in decent shape.

      • Thanks for the data. I certainly didn't pay retail for these, but as estate sales here are usually operated by companies who make wild guesses about values, they weren't bad. I don't even seek a huge profit, I'd just rather have them go...

    • Nice hawl. The Mustang should pay for the lot. I've yet to find one in my price range. Even beat to hell they fetch quite a bit.
