Euro JK: Anindith Reddy starts finale weekend with a win in Race 1 at Buddh

With the title to be decided in the 2017 Euro JK Championship, contenders Anindith Reddy and Vishnu Prasad started on the front-row, with the Hyderbadi on pole.

Even though Reddy had a good getaway off the line, but Prasad was at his rear for the first few laps in the 10-lap race at the Buddh International Circuit.

A bad start from guest driver Lorenzo Pegoraro and Nayan Chatterjee dropped them to fourth and fifth respectively, while Krishnaraaj Mahadik jumped to third from fifth.

Midway into the race, the battle upfront settled down, as Reddy then built in a solid advantage of 4.517s in the end to take his fourth win of the season.

With Prasad finishing second, it was Chatterjee, who completed the podium positions after he managed to clear both Pegoraro and Mahadik in the process.

A 10-second time penalty to Mahadik for jump start dropped him to fifth behind Pegoraro, with Manav Sharma gaining four places from his start position to be sixth.

Fresh from his Formula 4 testing, Ashwin Datta managed to hold off Arya Singh for seventh, with Nirmal Uma Shankar keeping Mira Erda at bay for ninth. Euro JK returnee Diljith TS was the sole retirement from the race.

UPDATE: A 10-second penalty to Sharma dropped him to ninth, promoting Datta, Singh and Shankar by one place.
