  • I am a rational human being and I like EVs
  • I don't like change
  • I need that V8 sound in my life
  • I dislike the people who drive EVs, and thus I don't like electrification

  • They are no better for the environment than internal combustion driven vehicles, yet they’re being hyped as the saviours of the world.

All of that electricity has to come from somewhere, and at the moment, it’s most likely to be nuclear or coal; which means that all of those pseudo-green EVs are running on fossil fuel just the same as my ‘dirty’ old diesel or they’re leaving a 20,000+ year legacy of radiation in their wake.

And don’t forget about the carbon footprint of making, and disposing of all of those batteries.

I may be oversimplifying the situation slightly, but I think you get my point.

    • I can't write anything better.

    • 1- Nuclear energy is the cleanest non-renewable energy: it doesn't pollute CO2 and waste can actually be easily disposed with techniques CERN is developing (though they're expensive so most power plant owners just throw waste away...

  • the feel and sound of a ICE engine cannot be replaced and without that important factor the soul of the car is mostly gone and that cannot be replaced by the wiring of an electric motor.

It’s the same reason the manual will never go. No matter how good the auto gets you cannot get the same connection you can with a clutch and manual box.

I don’t hate all EV’s just the ones that are trying to be sport cars and if the normal EV’s didn’t look like turds on wheels I would be ok with them.

So if the car companies would stop messing with the formula of a sport car and except that they are the way they are for a reason and make normal electric cars that look good instead of trying to be different they would get a lot less hate.

  • Climate change isn't a real issue (data supports this and I've talked about why in other posts, comment and I will copy paste it for you) even if it was an issue electric cars don't solve the issue. They create just as much pollution and are extremely impractical especially in areas with extreme weather like Canada

    • Actually my comment on the other post was deleted.

    • Data supports that it's a real issue, perhaps you should check your sources...

Still, I understand your other points, though as I answered to another comment, they're precisely useful for taking away smog and pollution from cities,...

  • I don't dislike them I just don't like the false claims that they're being touted as zero emissions, because they're not. The mining process for the minerals that make up the batteries are very unethically sourced (slave labour and child labour) look up cobalt mines. and environmentally unfriendly all the materials are the same as an ICE car. Until we come up with a decent eco friendly manufacturing solution and reach 100% in renewable energy that charges the electric car. Until that happens then they're not much better than that of a normal ICE powered car.
