Ev Showdown: Tesla Model S (P100D) VS Porsche Taycan.

6 weeks ago I published my thoughts on what would be the challenge of the century when it comes to the EV car race. Porsche lapped the Green hell and shown the world that Electric cars aren`t certainly one trick ponies, in the post where I published my thoughts I highlighted the superior potential of the Tesla Model S S (P100D) against the Porsche Taycan which was heavier and had less torque and power, a unfair but not hopeless fight for the Taycan for sure.
displeased by this Elon Musk sent a Prototype version of the Plaid Drivetrain which will be fitted on future models of the Tesla Model S P100D+ to beat the time of Pre-Production model of the Porsche Taycan, and afterwards unofficially declared having beat the record of the Taycan for more than 20 seconds flat without providing the onboard video footage to prove the P100D+ fast lap (and subsequently breaking down on the side of the track like a Chinese stopwatch) however... Our friends at Vox Automobili sent both cars on a test and the results.... are pretty different than what Tesla announced on their controversial nurburgring laptime with the Prototype P100D+

As we can see in the video although the Porsche Taycan leaves the starting line a little later than the Tesla Model S (P100D) the American sedan is quickly overtaken halfway through the track by the german saloon despite having a great difference in power and acceleration to 60mph and making quite a big gap by the end of the track.
Altough it`s obvious conditions like rain influence the performance of the cars during the testing both the Tesla and the Porsche equipped their factory stock tires for the testing so it was more fair for both cars, there was nothing else but their performance to be fought against.. However it`s impressive for Porsche to easily beat the american brand that has been longer in the EV world than them, however... how big was the difference against the Model S? on the second test where both cars made a 0-250kph comparison the Taycan once again shown that no matter how silent it is, it still has teeth to chew on the P100D.
to be fair I have to mention that the Tesla Model S (P100D) on the acceleration test had certain problems with the battery which was lightly depleted after the drag race affecting the performance slightly, However the difference isn`t that big In my opinion, however the Taycan demonstrates certainly impressive things like reaching 200kph in just 8.6 seconds while The Model S (P100D) takes 3 seconds longer with a little less charge than the Porsche Taycan.
However, we still have to compare the prototype of the Model S P100D + against the next rumored version of the Taycan that will carry the RS sticker on its back likely chasing after performance and luxury like the Porsche Panamera does.
Despite the greater efforts of the Californian brand, it has been confirmed that the P100D+`s record is not valid on the record table of the green hell since the P100D+ was a Prototype against a Pre-Production model which is now available for sale to the public.
