Here's the things you want and need to know. The Mazzanti Evantra is a 7 litre V8 771 HP hypercar, made in Pontedera (near Pisa). Now please sit down and enjoy. Because this is a hypercar made in Tuscany. So my region, my area, my Tribe, my prose.
I live in Tuscany. A beautiful country in Central Italy which is good for a lot of things. Wine, food, museums, culture, arts. There's plenty. The enogastronomic tourism is booming and we have it, whatever takes your fancy. We're big on stuff you can behold and stuff you can buy, too. Especially when leather goods, as the marketing people would have me say, are involved. There's just one, clamorously important field that's almost completely non-existent. And that's the automotive industry.
We're still stuck in time with the Vespa. The only truly internationally recognized motorized vehicle we've produced. Other than that, Tuscany has never really had anything to "rep" itself in the worldwide map. And things aren't much better today. Big events are in Milan, supercars are in Motor Valley, Modena, and everyone else is either somewhere north like Padua or Turin, or in Rome. But we have Luca Mazzanti. And he's got a 771 autochthonous hypercar.
You may have seen it in Turin at Parco Valentino or in Monaco at Top Marques but if you haven't yet, you will be able to see it live at Bologna Motor Show from next Saturday. If you're lucky, you may even get the chance to see it live and enjoy watching the cockpit from inside. I have, and it's a wondrous thing. But then it would be. Because it comes from T-O-S-C-A-N-A.
