Everyone is getting a MKIV Supra in Forza Horizon for Christmas
You may have heard about this already, but it certainly bears repeating: Toyota is returning to Forza Horizon.
Legendary Toyota cars have been missing from popular video games except Gran Turismo since 2017. Everyone knew this was because of an exclusive licensing agreement except one person on Toyota's social media team. Toyota's Twitter account awkwardly implied that Toyota did not want its car used in games that "promote illegal street racing" in response to a tweet regarding their absence from Need for Speed: Heat. The tweet was deleted shortly after, but not before The Drive grabbed a screenshot.
Apparently, that exclusive license has now expired. I'd like to say Toyota is sort of apologizing to everyone by gifting a 1998 Supra RZ to Forza Horizon 4 players on December 12th, but this was probably all in motion before that regretful tweet. Hopefully this is the first of many Toyota and even Lexus cars returning to games like Forza and Need for Speed. I'm hoping my beloved supercharged AW11 MR2 is part of that list!
