F1 can be a rather insular world, where self-interest is usually the order of the day but from personal experience, I know this is not always the case.
In 2012, a very good friend of mine, a former pro-rally co-driver, had a fall and ended up as a tetraplegic.
I kicked off a Twitter campaign to raise money for medical equipment and I had support and donations of memorabilia from every team on the grid bar two.
We raised many, many thousands of pounds.
Now, in the saddest of circumstances, the F1 world has stepped up for another member of the motorsport family in need, seventeen year old F4 racer Billy Monger, who you will no doubt be aware, has had leg amputations following a horrendous crash at Donington.

Here is a small selection of the many reactions and offers of support.
