This weekend is f1's first-ever race week at Mugello
So how did all the teams faired in today's qualifying session
First and foremost let's get obvious out of the way
Mercedes dominated and Redbull's Max Verstappen coming to a close third surprisingly close actually compared to the previous qualifying session in the season.

Q1
Q1 was a usual messy affair with all the midfield teams battling for track position to get a clear run
Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel barely managing to get out of Q1 by out qualifying last weeks winner Pierre Gasly who barely missed out on Q2 which is quite unusual for Gasly because so far he has been quick and out-qualified his teammate Daniil kvyat comfortably then comes Alfa Romeo's Antonio Giovinazzi who again has been out-qualified by his 40 years old teammate

George Russell still hasn't been beaten by his teammate in qualifying despite some strong promise Nicholas latiffi showed earlier in the session Kevin Magnussen for Haas is the slowest driver of the session with 20th
Q2
Lando Norris missed on his chance to get into Q1 because of his teammate Carlos Sainz getting in a quick lap at the end to get into Q1 which pushed Lando out of Q1 and had to settle for 11th for tomorrow's but I would say that with free tire choice this might be for better because of Mugello's tire destroying corners he could really do some damage to all the soft tire runners with a good strategy. Danill kvyat made an error in his final run which might've caused him a shot at the top 10.

And Kimi Raikkonen in Alfa Romeo oh this is good, has out-qualified Sebastian Vettel in a Ferrari
Q3
So here it goes
Lewis Hamilton took his 95th pole by beating "again" his teammate Valtteri Bottas

But surprisingly Redbull were closer to Mercedes than expected with Alex Albon performing actually good and was closer to Max than he has been

And guess who qualified 5th on their 1000th GP "Charles Leclerc" albeit all thanks to Renault's Esteban Ocon losing control of his Renault and brought yellow flag on 1st sector and didn't allow other faster cars to complete their laps
