Fancy your McLaren 720S Spider with added Lamborghini? Best speak to Novitec
Let's just face it. We've all been in love with cars long enough to know that no matter how crazy or expensive or powerful cars might get, there's always a tuning company out there that's going to make them look wilder and go quicker – like this McLaren 720S Spider by Novitec.
Novitec has injected the 720S Spider with the outlandish presence that was missing from the factory
Novitec is a German tuning company that specialises in supercars and their creations are usually a lot more tasteful than the average pimped out rubbish. This 720S Spider has been given more power, a lot of it, and a new custom-made carbon fibre wide body. Talk about stance.
So this 720S is 2.3 inches wider at the front and 5.11 inches at the rear, and the ride height has also been lowered, by 1.3 inches. Other than that, we find new panels, new fenders, new intakes, and a new nose. Novitec says this car is actually more aerodynamically efficient than the standard vehicle, which is saying something given McLaren's expertise in such things.
That huge spoiler apparently does great things for aero, but all that matters is that it looks awesome
Carbon fibre has also been used for the trunk/boot lid, the wing mirrors and the retractable spoiler and, as an optional extra, Novitec will also throw a new carbon diffuser into the mix.
That front splitter looks like it's been cut of an LM racer
Let's talk about serious stuff: the engine. Novitec's installed a new performance exhaust system and the standard 3.9-litre biturbo V8 has been given 86 extra horses and 79 more lb-ft of torque, meaning it now produces 806 hp and 647 torques. Zero to sixty only takes 2.7 seconds (down from 2.9), whereas zero to 124 mph (200 kph) now takes 7.5 seconds. The top speed is 214 mph (344 kph).
As ever with Novitec products, the interior can be customised upon request with just about any colour you can think of, and it is going to be a mix of Alcantara and different types of leather.
Novitec can make your 720S interior look the inside of a billionaire's purse, if you want it t
Anyway, if you like the sound of all of this, you should hurry up because they're only going to build 15 examples. The price is around £242,000 ($315,000). And, if like us, that stretches your budget a 'little' then you can always content yourself with this lego version, for £27.00.
