Farewell, Drivetribe...

"It was fun while it lasted" was definitely an understatement

Its not even been a month since my "revival" at Drivetribe which precisely was at 11/12/21, when I logged into Drivetribe. Only to discover the shattering 'dear Drivetribe' post pasted right on the homepage of the app.

I'm sure for everybody, including me, it was a terrible discovery to behold.

Rewind back to 2019 when I first started my Drivetribe journey, new relations were made through by community, new knowledge was being presented by this community, company of similar interests were provided by this community. This really was the only place where I could talk even slightly about cars without receiving a questioned "huh?" as a response, a genuine place where I, along with many others, can talk about cars for days on end.

In reality, for many in this community who decide to work in some sort of the automotive sector in the future, as saddening as this can be; take this as experience. Experience that especially in today's messy economic climate, from global supply chain issues to obviously, a pandemic to rapid inflation rates, running a business is harder than it ever has been, and sometimes, unfortunately they will have to close for reasons and we who are not in charge just has to unfortunately accept it, leaving many who from having a deep interest in the brand to having many of their free time devoted and invested to it, stricken. Real life examples include the fall of Saab along with many other storied manufacturers, closures of factories such as the Honda Sunderland plant, and many more.

But as a result, this will bring a sense of perseverance for us to find alternate methods to continue this journey, force us to adapt to this new normal, to innovate our content for the better.

As Drivetribe soon goes away, many of us will continue this journey through Oversteer, Reddit, Discord, and other platforms as well. To think optimistically of this situation, we as a community isn't over, we are just simply moving our base from where we started to a new location.

And finally, thank you to all who has appreciated my content over the years, awarded, bumped, commented, promoted, critiqued. Without your contribution, I would have never discovered this hidden hobby of mine; writing.

A final proper Studio post of mine, its been fun, stupendously fun to be honest. Farewell Drivetribe, see you all soon!
